The phenomenon known as Star Trek all began in the heart
and mind of one man -- Gene Roddenberry. Gene embraced a vision of the future
which was optimistic and humanistic: an Earth at peace and poverty-free,
and a universe where conflict was more readily solved by dialogue and diplomacy
rather than by war and aggression. With these ideals in mind, Gene began
creating Star Trek in 1964.
